What should you know about me? I had a beautiful childhood; I was raised by my wonderful parents who taught me so much about life and what matters most. I was homeschooled through 10th grade and never regretted that for a second. But the most important thing my parents gave me was the blessing of being raised in a Christian home and teaching me about Jesus Christ, his death and resurrection, and what that means for me and for all of us.
I was married young at the age of 20 to the first man I ever dated , and we have been blessed and happy ever since. My husband, Jonathan, truly is the best man I have ever known. He is such a hard worker, so smart, and so sweet and kind to me. He is studying to become a Lutheran pastor, and I believe in his ministry and calling 100%. I can't wait to see where God takes us.
A year into our marriage, my husband and I decided we wanted to start our family. That road was not easy, and those two years were very challenging as we tried to conceive month after month only to end up with a diagnosis of infertility after the first year of trying. The second year after seeing doctors and specialists God blessed us with a miracle, our little baby girl.
Our daughter was born in October of 2013 and brings me more joy than I could ever express.
Much to our surprise, in December of 2014 we found out we were expecting again. Our sweet son was born in July of 2015.
I started this blog in the midst of our infertility struggles, but it has grown out of that into a place where I share about faith, family, children, and just life in general.
The common thread is the name - "Learning to Trust." If I am honest, one of the themes of my life has been situations that require me to trust in God, relax, and leave it all to him, and this area can be a personal struggle for me. This is so very difficult to do sometimes, and I titled my blog "Learning to Trust" to remind me what it is all about. That through the struggles, through the very hard times and the very good times, God is there providing and caring for me. I need to trust him when things get hard and I need to trust him when things seem good and I may be tempted to think that I have it under control.
My hope is that through this blog I can share with others some of the things that God is teaching me as I learn to trust him more and more, and that I can help other people to know that they are not alone, whether they are dealing with difficulties, appreciating the blessings of life, or struggling to hand it all over to the One who created, redeemed, and loves us all.
I would love it if you would follow my blog! You can do so by joining the blog, subscribing for email updates (at the bottom of each page) or simply liking Learning to Trust on Facebook or following me on Twitter. I also love to hear from readers, so feel free to contact me any time!
